This single drawer alderwood night stand is based on classic shaker design and utilizes mortis and tenon joinery on the body and a breadboard top. The top has a unique protobranch stretching across the center and draw face that highlight the character of the wood and add a bit of contrast to the stubble warm brown and tans. Finished with 3 layers of polyurethane for a strong durable surface. Able is the companion piece to Mable the table.
Mabel, a companion piece to Able the night table, is a traditional Shaker style nightstand made of maple with mortise and tenon joinery. Mable is finished with a cherry stain that highlight the delicate, satiny grain of the maple, and 3 coats of polyurethan. The clean lines and simple forms highlight the delicate tapered legs the Shakers were know for while the light cherry colors help to contrast the browns and greens the alderwood in Able the night table.
